Writing Prompt: Do lazy days make you feel rested or unproductive?

Motherhood really changes your world. And I don’t just mean your finances or your priorities — but your preferences, too. The shift shows up in how you choose to spend your time and what truly matters to you.

Slow days feel like a luxury. I used to think slowing down meant I was wasting time, like I was slacking off. But ever since becoming responsible for another human being, I’ve learned to appreciate quiet, unhurried days — when my family and I can sleep in, stay home, and simply be together. Or, if I’m lucky, steal a little time alone for myself.

Don’t get me wrong, my family is everything to me. But as an introvert, the constant neediness can be overstimulating. That’s why those “lazy days” aren’t really lazy at all. They’re necessary — for me to recharge, recalibrate, and show up as my best self.
